Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio seeks to provide an opportunity for teens to come to know the saving love of Christ by providing a powerful experience of the Catholic Church and its sacramental life.

This conference is specialized to address the resources and needs of today’s Catholic youth, organized on a national and regional level. With an exciting lineup of speakers, musicians, and presenters, the High School Youth Conference will challenge Catholic youth to stand firm in their faith, rely on the awesome power of Jesus Christ who is their guide, friend, and Savior, and show that faith to the world.

The Sacraments are the highlight of the conference. Teens will join in a dynamic Eucharistic Liturgy during the weekend and will be given the opportunity to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. There is also a powerful time of Eucharistic Exposition and Adoration. Many teens encounter the Holy Spirit for the first time. This leads to a tremendous conversion for many young people.

This will be the first year for a Steubenville Summer Conference in the Catholic Diocese of Palm Beach.

The fee includes Friday night dinner, Saturday lunch and dinner and all conference programming. (Saturday and Sunday breakfast are at the hotel)

Total cost per person (each Group Leader, Adult Chaperone, and Youth) registered before March 1, 2008 is $135.00 (plus hotel lodging). Total cost per person (each Group Leader, Adult Chaperone, and Youth) registered after March 1, 2008 is $145.00 (plus hotel lodging).

We offer free registration for all priests.

Reserve spots online @ www.steubenvilleflorida.com/registration. Registrations are accepted on a first come first serve basis. A $50.00 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit per spot is required. Please pay the deposit within 14 days of reserving your spaces. There will be no onsite registration.

Friday, April 11, 2008 – Registered groups final non-refundable payment is due.

Payments

**Due to the overwhelming interest in the conference and the need for accurate, advance planning, all deposits are non-refundable. All deposits must be made in US funds, by check, money order, Mastercard, Visa, or American Express. Please send in ONE form of payment for your group/organization when making payments. Don’t forget to include the Group Name on payment.

Returned checks

If your check fails to clear the bank and is returned for insufficient funds, the group leader will be notified that the status of the group’s registration has been changed to “insufficient funds” category. Your registration will not be processed until the conference office receives a money order or cashier’s check for the entire amount. There is a $25 handling charge for each NSF check.

Refunds

Please read carefully. The overwhelming demand for conference participation and the need for advance planning require definite commitment from participants. For this reason, all payments are non-refundable/non-transferable. Please be aware that these policies are in place so that we may be fair as possible to all groups and prepare for participants who are able to attend.

All forms are due May 1, 2008.

Section 1 – Adult and Youth Liability Release Forms

• Original completed (L-1) Verification of Receipt of Properly Executed Adult and Youth Liability Release Forms signed by the Group Leader. The “Verification” list is to contain a complete alphabetized list of participants. (Total number should match the total number of registered participants including Group Leader, Adult Chaperones, Youth, and Priests)
• Original completed (L-2) Adult and Youth Liability Release Forms for the entire group (Group Leader, Adult Chaperones, Youth, and Priests)

Section 2 – Adult Chaperones

• Original completed (C-3) Adult Chaperones from the Diocese of Palm Beach Verification Form-Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People signed by Most Rev. Gerald M. Barbarito, Bishop of Palm Beach
  

  OR

  Original completed (OC-3) Adult Chaperones from Outside the Diocese of Palm Beach Verification Form-Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People signed by the (Arch)Bishop
• Original competed (C-4) Adult Chaperone Application Forms (Group Leader and Adult Chaperones) signed by the adult participant along with their PASTOR or PAROCHIAL VICAR

Section 3 – Priests

• Completed (P-5) Priest Forms
• Original completed (P-6) Certificate of Aptitude for Priestly Ministry in the Diocese of Palm Beach (if Priests are not from the Catholic Diocese of Palm Beach) signed by the (Arch)Bishop

Section 4 – T-shirts

• Completed (T-7) T-Shirt Order Form (if pre purchased)

The Group Leader must keep a copy of the (L-1) Liability Form at the parish level and with him/her throughout the weekend.

In order to effectively minister to your teens and for the safety of the youth and for the good of all involved in the conference, there must be at least one but no more then two adults (Group Leader or Adult Chaperone) per ten youth.

Please contact the conference office in advance if you have anyone in your group with a medical necessity or handicap that requires special needs. For example, we can arrange to have an interpreter for someone who is hearing impaired during parts of the conference. Lynn University and Pope John Paul II High School are full access campuses and we will do our best to accommodate any special needs.
